Effluent Quality - Advanced Secondary Effluent Standard
The basic standards for accreditation are:
Each home treatment sewerage plant, when installed on the premises, must continue producing effluent that meets the following standard:
(a) Biochemical Oxygen Demand-less than or equal to 10 mg/L
(b) Suspended Solids-less than or equal to 10 mg/L
(c) Thermotolerant Coliforms-not exceeding 10 Organisms/100 mL
(d) Total Nitrogen-less than or equal to 10 mg/L.
(e) Total Phosphorus - less than or equal to 5 mg/L.
Test results show that the Waterboy performs much better than is required to achieve the advanced Secondary Effluent Standard. |
